President Obama in Big Trouble
Guests:Monica Crowley & Kirsten Powers
A new Washington Post-ABC News poll is devastating for the President of the United States. When asked "Do you think things in this country are generally going in the right direction or on the wrong track?" only 28% said "right direction" while a whopping 68$ said we're on the wrong track. How will this affect the midterm elections? Can President Obama recover? We'll debate it.
Battle for the Senate
Guest:Larry Sabato & Michael Maslansky
The Factor also looked ahead to Tuesday's election with political scientist Larry Sabato and independent pollster Michael Maslansky. "I think Republicans will take the Senate," Maslansky declared. "There's a very good shot that they will win not only what they need, but a couple of extra seats. I would bet my own money." Sabato, while somewhat more circumspect, agreed with that conclusion. "There's a 70% chance that Republicans will take the Senate. There will be a couple of runoffs and a couple of recounts, but when all is said and done Republicans will be in charge of the Senate."
Immigration Chaos
Guest:Jessica Vaughn
As reported previously, illegal immigrant Luis Monroy-Bracamonte, who had previously been deported twice, killed two police officers last week in California. Jessica Vaughn of the Center for Immigration Studies opined on the illegal alien situation. "Most of ICE's case load," she lamented, "is people who are convicted criminals who keep coming back and re-offend when they get here. But the Obama administration's priority has been to legalize as many people as possible who are here illegally, so he's put the handcuffs on ICE agents. A lot of times the illegal aliens are simply released." The Factor accused the feds of wantonly endangering American citizens: "It's obvious that the federal government is not protecting us from illegal aliens. If you're deported and come back to the USA, you're supposed to be in prison."
Ebola Lawsuits on the Way?
Guests:Kimberly Guilfoyle & Lis Wiehl
Can an American infected with Ebola sue the federal government? The Factor posed that question to legal wizards Kimberly Guilfoyle and Lis Wiehl. "Absolutely you can," Wiehl asserted. "You can claim the government didn't do enough and that it's negligence by omission. You can't usually sue the government, but for this you can." Guilfoyle outlined a potential legal strategy, saying, "You would basically say that the government failed to protect you, that their negligence was a direct cause of the injury you received."
Advice from Bernie
Guest:Bernie Goldberg
Bernie Goldberg, apparently in a generous mood, offered some unsolicited advice to the Republican Party. "No matter what happens next Tuesday," he began, "the Republican Party will still have a crummy reputation next Wednesday. So here are three suggestions: One, hire a hip and creative advertising PR firm that specializes in corporate makeovers because your image stinks. Number two, settle on one person to deliver your Republican and conservative messages. The person needs to be articulate and attractive and humorous. And the third thing, which is by far the most important, they must figure out a way to end the civil war between the moderate wing and the right wing. If that doesn't happen, they will not win. The hard right has to reach out to the moderates and the moderates need to reach out to the hard right."
The Battle for the Senate
Guest:Charles Krauthammer
The Factor welcomed Charles Krauthammer, who predicted that the GOP will likely win the Senate next Tuesday. "This really is a Republican tide," Dr. K said, "and I think there's a 70% chance that Republicans re-take the Senate. This is essentially a referendum on Obama and competence. When you are the party of government and you preach about the glory of government, then if you are incompetent you are in trouble. You also have every scandal from the IRS and the Secret Service and the VA and the ObamaCare rollout. If the GOP can't win the Senate in a climate like this, maybe the party ought to look for another country."
Keeping Calm
The fewer material things you want in this life, the calmer and happier you'll be.
Viewers sound off
Factor Words of the Day
James Giraudo, Trukee, CA: "I have been a California law enforcement agent for 25 years. I deal with illegals every day. If I arrest them, they are soon released and nothing happens. Until a member of Congress loses a loved one, nothing is likely to change."

Edward, AZ: "O'Reilly, it is amazing how you dissemble the facts and feed your angry viewers. An illegal immigrant kills two cops and you blame President Obama. You should be ashamed of yourself."

Eric Alvarez, Minot, ND: "I am Hispanic and am disgusted with illegal immigration. I can't believe Juan Williams isn't as upset as I am."
