Once again, President Trump lambasted CNN after White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins asked him about whether Putin can be trusted.
Of course, the Russian dictator can't be trusted, but Mr. Trump isn't going to say that because he's trying to get a ceasefire in Ukraine. Ms. Collins knows that but was being provocative.
So, the President insulted CNN, which is now becoming a national pastime for Republicans.
A couple of things. I think Kaitlan Collins is a talented broadcaster - light years better than I was at her age. She's not an ideologue like some CNNers, but she understands the left-leaning culture in which she works and doesn't buck the system.
Therefore, Ms. Collins is in for a rough ride covering President Trump, who has zero respect for her operation. This is like Richard Nixon-Dan Rather, except Kaitlan is nicer than Rather.
CNN hurt itself dramatically by going hard left, no doubt. Audience ratings prove it. However, it might behoove Mr. Trump to use a little humor here. You beat them, Mr. President. And everyone knows it.
