The American Dream

A new economic survey says that an American citizen needs to generate about four and a half million dollars in a lifetime to participate in the "American Dream".

So, what's that?

Well, it's having decent food, a comfortable place to live, and options to pursue your interests.  That's essentially it.  The study goes on to say that under the multi-million dollar umbrella, you can also responsibly raise two children.

Let's say a citizen works for 40 years. That means he or she would have to generate around $100,000 a year to be comfortable dreaming away.  The bulk of that money would logically come towards the end of a career when skills have been developed.  Also, investments would have to be present.

At this point in our history, taxes are badly encroaching on the dream, especially if you live in liberal areas.  That's because the left does not believe in self-reliance.  It wants to "guarantee" the American Dream to everyone, even folks who are lazy and irresponsible.  Even people who enter this country illegally.

That vision costs trillions of dollars, and all working Americans are required to pay their "fair share", which is whatever the politicians can squeeze out of us.

That's what dreamers face - not only providing for their families but for their neighbors.  If the leftists achieve power, the American Dream will evaporate into a brutal struggle for legal tender as take-home pay is gutted.

Be forewarned.
