Some guys never learn, and it seems I may be one of them. Seeking to protect my sanity, I've cut down my cable news watching significantly.  That's because I rarely learn anything, and the presentations are largely dull unless I'm on, of course.

But there I am the other night watching James Carville on MSNBC. Why? Because the Islander game hadn't started yet.  The octogenarian is still a lively presence with a lack of self-awareness that is absolutely startling.

The topic is Trump's cabinet picks. James doesn't like them.  Shocker.  NBC News doesn't like them. The guy who drives James to the studio probably likes them, but he doesn't count.

Only liberal ideology counts on the NBC News airwaves.

If I had been interviewing Mr. James, I would have asked about President Biden's department heads.  Does Carville believe Homeland Security Chief Alejandro Mayorkas has done a good job?  He told the nation the border is secure.  Does James Carville believe the border is secure? Maybe.

How about Transportation Security, the mighty Pete Buttigieg? Has he done anything to alleviate airline chaos? Anything at all? James, over to you.

This isn't "what aboutism".  I hate that. No, this is about honesty in presenting news analysis.

But it's my fault.  My remote works. I could have vaporized Carville. But I didn't.

At least I got a message of the day out of it.

See you this evening for the No Spin News.
