The following is not my reporting, but I believe it has some validity.  President Biden will soon announce he will withdraw from the presidential race.  He and his advisers are discussing when he will address the nation.  Mr. Biden has Covid and that has to subside before the address.

The President will call for an "open" Democratic convention in August.  He will not endorse anyone during his announcement.

Mr. Biden will stay in office until next January.

Historian and committed democrat Jon Meacham is crafting Biden's address according to political reporter Mark Halperin.

Kamala Harris is already vetting possible running mates and, as I reported yesterday, Kentucky Governor Andrew Beshear tops her list.  

Your humble correspondent predicted this turn of events in November 2023.  I based my analysis on Joe Biden's declining mental health.  At age 81, that is not going to improve.
