The apex of capitalism began again Thursday night as the National Football League opened its season.

Brutal game. No DEI. No welfare. No pity. Just win. And make money. Lots of money.

In fact, the NFL is the most profitable enterprise in the world.  It is based entirely on competition and individual skill. There is no place to hide on that field.  Success and failure occur on every play.

America has become a nation of excuse-makers and grievance hounds.  Always somebody else’s fault.  Public schools enable that kind of weak thinking.  So do many politicians and the leftist media.

But that all disappears on the football field. Which is why I played.  Competition makes you stronger.  And you need to be strong to succeed in life.  No one else can do it for you.  You, yourself, must plow through.

So let the games begin.  They symbolize what a free marketplace really is. And it’s not always pretty.
