Talking Points Memo & Top Story
Soldiers tortured & killed in Iraq
Guests: Fox News military analysts Gen. Thomas McInerney & Col. David Hunt

"Private Kristian Menchaca and Private Thomas Tucker were captured by terrorists in Iraq, hacked to death, their eyes gouged, their bodies defiled. This is payback for the death of Zarqawi, and Americans must decide how to respond. I say Americans because you and I have a stake in this and must speak up so the murders of those soldiers will not be in vain. Talking Points believes the Bush administration has to stop being defensive about waging war. The administration also needs to begin challenging those who are helping the enemy. The ACLU, for example, opposes just about every anti-terror strategy and should be exposed. The BBC also helps the enemy by slanting the Iraq war coverage and portraying the coalition as villains. And the vile Air America radio network does the same thing. The New York Times allowed a suspected terrorist to write an op-ed piece saying he was tortured at Guantanamo Bay. However, the Times failed to tell its readers the man's entire family was convicted of terrorist activities. The USA needs Guantanamo Bay, it needs martial law in Iraq, it needs to fight the terrorists even harder. Anyone who says we're the bad guys, who claims America is the cause of terror, but fails to emphasize why we're fighting in the first place - all of those people must be challenged. No country can win a war against savages unless harsh measures are employed. Let's hope the brutal ordeal of Privates Menchaca and Tucker will wake all of us up."

Fox News military analysts Thomas McInerney and David Hunt responded to the two murders with anger and resolve. "We should take the gloves off," Col. Hunt pronounced. "It's time to stop the nonsense politically and militarily. We need to clean this place up and get the Iraqis to clean this place up. Find who did this and hang them." Gen. McInerney called this a tipping point. "There are people I call 'ACE Democrats' or 'ACE liberals' because they are 'aiding and comforting the enemy.' American people have to understand that if we don't do it there, they're coming here. We've put handcuffs on our military and we've got to take the handcuffs off." The Factor urged the Pentagon to fight an all-out war. "We're not doing everything we can do to win because we have the New York Times and all these other people making us out to be the bad guys whenever we make a mistake. The Times and the ACLU and the BBC are intimidating our government, and our government should step up now and say enough of this."
Impact Segment
Valedictorian silenced?
Guest: Fox News legal analyst Bob Massie

When valedictorian Brittany McComb mentioned God in her speech, officials at her Las Vegas high school immediately cut her microphone. Fox News analyst Bob Massie said the school was within its legal rights. "She was warned previously and yet she went ahead. Spiritually and morally I agree with her, but legally the school had to protect their position. I think they did what they had to do legally." The Factor countered that Brittany was silenced too quickly. "School officials were paranoid from the git-go. In a case like that, you have to give the benefit of the doubt to the valedictorian because she earned the right to give the speech."
Factor Follow Up Segment
Legalization of narcotics & the left
Guest: Dr. Mark Kleiman, UCLA Drug Policy Analysis Program

Billionaire George Soros has given vast sums of money to groups that want to legalize narcotics. One Soros-funded study downplayed the dangers posed by methamphetamine use in America, a finding that was disputed by UCLA's Mark Kleiman. "It's clear to me," Kleiman told The Factor, "that meth is a much bigger problem than it was five years ago. It has spread geographically and socially, and the number of treatment episodes are up. The criminal thing is that we don't know how big the problem is and we're not paying as much attention as we should be. We need somebody in Washington to pay attention."
Unresolved Problems Segment
What to do with illegal immigrants
Guest: Dr. Steven Camarota, Center for Immigration Studies

An estimated 12-million illegal immigrants are in the US, and suggestions for what to do with them range from amnesty to deportation. Anti-illegal immigration researcher Steven Camarota criticized the Senate amnesty proposal as far too lenient. "We think 7 million people will come forth and get their legalization. We also expect one fraudulent application for every three legitimate, so we can expect another nearly 3 million. There are no limits on these numbers - if 20-million people come forward with fake utility bills, they get amnesty." The Factor questioned whether the Senate proposal can actually be implemented. "I don't have confidence that the federal government can do this. They can't stop people from coming across the border, how are they going to police 7 million people?"
Personal Story Segment
Consequences for aiding the enemy
Guest: Talk show host Laura Ingraham

As mentioned in Talking Points, organizations like the ACLU and the BBC seem to actively help the enemy. Talk show host Laura Ingraham named other groups and individuals she alleges are working against the United States. "One group that has crossed the line is International ANSWER, the America-bashing group which organizes anti-war rallies. And on Amnesty International's web site there is no mention of the US soldiers tortured in Iraq, but there is mention of Guantanamo Bay. Howard Dean mentioned the two soldiers being captured and used it to slam the Bush administration and make a cheap political point. When the enemy sees the reaction in the United States, they are absolutely emboldened." The Factor again stressed the difference between sedition and loyal opposition. "The line between dissent and helping the enemy is a tough one to call, and I see some people helping the enemy. On Wednesday we will monitor all of the coverage, on the Internet and in the newspapers, of these two soldiers who were brutalized in Iraq."
Back of Book Segment
Bullying advice
Guest: Greta Van Susteren

FNC host Greta Van Susteren has been investigating the case of a 10-year old Michigan boy who was savagely beaten by two school bullies on a bus. "This happened May 12th," Van Susteren explained, "and it was caught on camera. My question is what took them so long to charge this case? That bus should have been pulled over and the bullies removed at the first instance of trouble. You need to take immediate action." The Factor declared there should be zero tolerance for bullying. "This happens all the time, but this one is getting news because there was a video camera on the bus. The kids who did this, who were 13 and 14, should have been expelled. You can't allow any child to be assaulted like that."

Viewers sound off
Your e-mails dealt with various recent segments. Some excerpts:

Jack Peel, Tampa, FL: "Bill, you are wrong and Murtha is right. Bush is a warmonger and the Iraq war is unwinnable. So what if the Persian Empire resurrects itself? They're not going to invade us. Wise up, Harvard man!"

Kimberly Avinger, Orange Park, FL: "My father served in the Vietnam War and seeing Cindy Sheehan encouraging deserters in Canada brought back memories of Jane Fonda."

Rev. Ken Jones, Franklin, NC: "Bill, after seeing your report on the failure of my state to pass Jessica's Law, I have contacted my legislators and asked them to show some courage. My grandmother taught me that the true measure of a person is whether they protect children."

Rhonda Pullen, Dallas, TX: "O'Reilly, I can't believe I heard you say that the government bears 'part' of the blame for illegal immigration because it let them come in. How do you let people come in who are sneaking across the border? The blame lies with the lawbreakers."
