| "Meghan McCain only became a Republican on Father's Day, but she's now the darling of the left ever since she became a willing accomplice in their attacks against the right. In an online column, she slammed Ann Coulter, which instantly won her a guest spot on MSNBC. On my radio show, we played snippets of Ms. McCain's appearance on MSNBC, interspersed with my satirical impressions of her. Let the record show, I never called Meghan McCain 'fat,' and as I have repeatedly said, she is an attractive young woman. This flap isn't about me or Ms. McCain, it's just another left-wing attempt to silence any criticism of the liberal agenda. In recent weeks, they've tried to demonize Jim Cramer, Rick Santelli, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and now me. They don't want to focus on the fact that this administration is driving us off a debt cliff, or that America's enemies are suddenly emboldened. So they gin up a phony controversy about a supposed GOP catfight to distract you from the truth. The Obama attack dogs can twist my words and distort my intentions, but they will never, ever silence me." |

Edward Liddy, CEO of the beleaguered AIG insurance company, was pummeled by politicians at a Congressional hearing Wednesday. Laura welcomed Politico's Jim VandeHei, who mocked the sudden burst of "outrage" over AIG bonus payments. "The information about these bonuses was available almost a year ago," VandeHei reported, "so somebody at Treasury should have known about this. And the White House knew for the past week about these bonuses, but we didn't see the outrage until there was public outrage over the weekend. We're spending so much time trying to 'out-outrage' each other that we're not even looking a much more important question, which is should we be propping up AIG in the first place?" Laura denounced politicians on both sides of the aisle, beginning with Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner. "He was an architect of this whole deal in the first place, and we can't get a straight answer about why the administration and Republicans and Democrats are suddenly surprised by this."
Continuing with the AIG bonus controversy, political strategist Dick Morris suggested that Democrats and President Obama are being damaged by the fallout. Morris also painted an extremely bleak picture of U.S. economic prospects. "The Federal Reserve has announced that they will inject another trillion dollars into the money supply," Morris said. "The money supply has tripled in the last five months. This will lead to double-digit inflation and the only way to stop that will be a new recession. So we will have a year or two more of this depression, then another year or two of inflation, then another year or two of recession." |

| Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was caught on video praising illegal immigrants as "patriots" and denouncing U.S. immigration policy as "un-American." Laura spoke about the incident with immigration activist Juan Hernandez, who applauded the speaker's words. "She says we need to change the laws," Hernandez said. "Well, yes ma'am, you are the most powerful person in the House, why don't you start promoting immigration reform?" Hernandez also repeated his long-standing call for amnesty. "I realize it's a hard sell to come out and say let's legalize these 12-million very people who are undocumented, but I also say let's be smart. If it's true that these undocumented people do create jobs, then we can grow our economy." But Laura countered that illegal immigration is a huge financial burden on states such as California, which "is on the verge of going down the tubes financially." |

| 45-year-old actress Natasha Richardson died Wednesday after suffering severe brain damage while skiing without a helmet. Laura was joined by neurosurgeon Arno Fried, who urged everyone to wear headgear. "Ski helmets are becoming more popular," Fried said, "just as bicycle helmets became more popular. They don't prevent every head injury, but they certainly help. Skiing and biking accidents both can cause the head to come to an abrupt stop, which can tear blood vessels." Laura revealed that she has an upcoming ski trip and will not take undue risks: "I do not own a ski helmet, but I'm buying one." |

| Laura, who has been a frequent target of far-left bloggers and websites, asked Fox News Radio's John Gibson about the attacks. "I've been studying this," Gibson reported, "and when Obama has a bad day, somebody else has a worse day. Whenever Obama gets in trouble, the left rolls out Bush and flogs him, or they roll out Rush Limbaugh and flog him. And now you've been rolled out, and all this is the politics of distraction." But Democratic strategist Julie Menin took Laura to task for using the term "plus-size" when joking about Meghan McCain. "She talked about the Republican Party being too extremist, but you decided to do a comedic riff. When people do a pejorative personal attacks, they don't attack on the substance." Laura ridiculed the left's "selective moral indignation." |

| Now that two of Nadya Suleman's octuplets have gone home, family therapist Shannon Fox called attention to Suleman's six other children. "The six children who are already at home are the forgotten ones," Fox said, "because the stars are the octuplets and now two of the stars have arrived home. The paparazzi are going crazy and this has to be terrifying for the six children, who are old enough to see what is going on." Fox also expressed reservations about Suleman's mental health. "Any normal parent would be absolutely overwhelmed at the thought of eight babies, but Nadya hasn't shown any sense of being overwhelmed. That indicates that she's still living in a world of denial." |

| The Obama administration has apparently dropped its idea that private insurance companies should be forced to pay for the treatment of wounded veterans. Fox News correspondent Bill Sammon reported the latest on the issue. "Of all the dumb political ideas," Sammon asserted, "this has to rank up there near the top. You're talking about a wartime commander-in-chief saying that, from now on, if you come back from a war with a missing limb or an injury, the federal government is no longer going to pay for that, you're going to have to deal with your insurance company. This was an insane idea, and why the Obama administration wasted political capital on it is a mystery to me." Laura added that veterans' groups were justifiably outraged. "I had a veteran on my radio show and he said that the outrage across the country about this in military circles almost mirrored the outrage at AIG bonuses." |
