From her years as a presidential press secretary to her debates with colleagues on Fox News' The Five, Dana Perino reveals the lessons she's learned that have guided her through life, including stories from behind the scenes at the White House with President George W. Bush that the cameras never captured.
Thoughtful, inspiring and often surprising, AND THE GOOD NEWS IS... traces Dana's unlikely journey through politics, the White House, and television. She has an uncanny ability for knowing what to say and how best to say it. A recurring theme in AND THE GOOD NEWS IS...is that planning has never worked for Dana; every time she has made a plan, something unexpected-and often better-has happened.
AND THE GOOD NEWS IS... blends a candid self-portrait with advice for allowing one's very best personality traits to shine through, emphasizing that dignity and civility are choices we make for ourselves. |

Anything is possible in America, You just have to take advantage of your opportunities when they arise and be prepared. Don't be afraid to take risks. You might surprise yourself. Be flexible and surround yourself with people with good living habits and work habits. And as Dana said, "If you can't say anything good about someone, don't say anything at all ". A excellent book for young people. A great guide for young peoples' future.

I bought this book for my husband, who really has enjoyed it. Our black lab puppy enjoyed the book too. At least all the pages are still there. When there was the opportunity to purchase a book signed by Dana, I thought what a great replacement for my husband's first book. The inscribed book is in the bookcase; he still reads the " dog- earred" edition. Although I have not read the book, my husband enjoys sharing the stories from the book. It will be an old friend when I have my turn to read it!

This is the best book on Dana's subject matter. I read it in three days, unusual for me, and could not put it down except for meals and sleeping. It has wonderful tips in there for the working people. If a 73 Great Grandma can enjoy this book, anyone can. So get reading; especially all you young non-reading college students.
