Product Description
Don't miss an exclusive audio sneak peek of Bill's memoir, "A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity!"

In 1957, in the heart of the Eisenhower years, in the third grade classroom of Sister Mary Lurana in Saint Brigid's parochial school in Westbury, Long Island, was a mouthy, obstreperous kid by the name of William O'Reilly. Quite a handful he was, and so one day Sister Lurana bent over him in exasperation in response to some piece of mischief and told him to his face, "William, you are a bold fresh piece of humanity." Little did she know that she was, early in his career as a troublemaker, defining the essence of Bill O'Reilly and providing him with the title of his brash and entertaining issues-based memoir.

In his most intimate book yet, O'Reilly goes back in time to examine the people, places, and experiences that launched him on his journey from being a working-class kid to an immensely influential television personality and bestselling author. Readers will learn how his traditional outlook was formed in the crucible of his family, his neighborhood, his church, and his schools, and how his views on America's proper role in the world emerged from covering four wars on five continents over three-plus decades as a news correspondent. What will delight his many fans and surprise many others is the humor and self-deprecation with which he handles one of his core subjects: himself, and just how O'Reilly became O'Reilly.

My favorite of all of Bill's book. I loved hearing him telling about the stories of his youth. I got a kick out of the Carvel ice cream story. Bill's voice is so relaxing. I wish he did all his audiobooks.

I didn't put the Bold Fresh book down until I'd read it from cover to cover! How nice to know that we now settle with a cup of coffee to watch an hour of The Factor with a man who was once this precocious little boy. A life well defined, well lived and nicely shared. America is fortunate!

After reading all the Killing Series books and the Pinhead book, the Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity about Bill growing up was just wonderful. So much of Bill's life was just like mine. I too had 2 sisters that were hard on me and yes my dad also gave me a fan for my up stairs bedroom since my family did not have air conditioning. Overcoming fear was extremely important in life and working to make money I would agree is much better than someone just providing money. Did not care too much about Club Med but did enjoy Bill's comments about Willie Nelson on page 320. The important thing about Bill O'Reilly is that he has 2 great skills or he has been gifted with 2 great skills. They are excellent writing and the ability to be a Presenter. Many individuals can write but cannot make a good presentation to an audience or like myself a very good presenter but not a writer. Bill has the complete "Package" so to speak. It was wonderful to finally read about his wife and Daughter in the last chapter. Finally, if you did not attend a Catholic school you would not know what it is like to get hit with a triangle ruler but be saved by becoming an alter boy, you missed something in life.

I absolutely loved this book and plan on passing it on to my brother, as I have the other books that I have purchased this year. Truthful, entertaining and shows how Bill O'Reilly grew up to be the person he is. He was not an angel, but he drew "good" from all of his experiences and it made him the man he is today. Thank you!
