With President Biden's poll numbers continuing to drop and vexing problems on almost every front, there is a historical marker that is apparent: Joe Biden is a bad president.
But how bad?
The census by scholars is that James Buchanan is the worst chief executive in history. He did absolutely nothing to confront the southern states that were defying the federal government and demanding secession. Buchanan wouldn't even send supplies to Fort Sumter, under siege by Confederates. When Abraham Lincoln entered the White House, civil war was imminent.
The president after Lincoln was murdered, Andrew Johnson, was incredibly incompetent, allowing racists to openly attack blacks after the South surrendered.
Herbert Hoover did nothing to alleviate suffering during the Great Depression - leading to 20 years of democrats in the White House.
Finally, Jimmy Carter hurt the nation during his four years. The economy was a mess, and Iran held 66 Americans hostage. Carter was in way over his head.
Joe Biden may be worse than Carter. Just the open border alone has created massive problems. And old Joe simply doesn't care. Add to that falling real wages, surging crime, and incredible division among the citizenry.
History will not be kind to the Biden administration.
