Predictably, the "dialogue" between Donald Trump and some Black journalists devolved into a nasty display on Wednesday. Rachel Scott from ABC News front-loaded a series of beefs against the former president - questioning why he was even invited to the forum in Chicago.
Trump, accurately believing he was being attacked, verbally scolded Ms. Scott, causing instant angst.
Somewhere, Kamala Harris was enjoying the display very much.
The scene was almost identical to 2016 when Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly went after Trump for his alleged treatment of women. Very similar outcome and controversy.
Ms. Scott was, of course, playing to her home anti-Trump team. If she was serious in seeking information, she should have asked about situations one at a time.
For example, the Obama fake birth certificate scenario. I'd like to know what Trump thinks about his allegations in hindsight. Legitimate question.
But legitimacy is long gone in corporate media circles. Rachel Scott undoubtedly received a bevy of "high-fives" from her crew, which is what she sought.
As for candidate Trump, well, he gave as good as he got.
He certainly had the right to defend himself. Not sure if he advanced his election cause.
