Drum roll please! The winner of this week’s I-Hate-Trump tournament is … Princeton Professor Eddie Glaude Jr. During an appearance on MSNBC (where else?) Glaude accused 78 million Trump voters of unalloyed racism.
Those who chose Trump over Kamala Harris would ‘rather destroy the republic’ than elect a Black woman, the professor declared. Not just some, not just a few, but ALL of them. The professor pompously urged all 78 million to ‘grapple with what motivated them.’ Host Nicolle Wallace sat in hypnotic adoration as Glaude unleashed his diatribe.
Glaude, who orates with the well-practiced cadence of a country preacher, probably does not believe his own words. He was not speaking the truth but hoping to garner attention. And, man, did it work! Glaude’s dishonest and hateful screed played on a loop on Fox News and other conservative outlets. He was ridiculed there but, of course, celebrated in most of the corporate left-wing media.
The professor is no doubt a very smart person and has authored some little-read scholarly tomes. But it’s his willingness to spew venom, usually about race, that makes him a favorite on MSNBC. ‘The ugly underbelly of America is in full view,’ he once declared. And this: ‘The Republican Party vomited up Donald Trump.’ Glaude was totally suckered by the hoax surrounding the NASCAR ‘noose’ incident, citing it as another example of America’s ‘ugliness.’ He was dead wrong, but no apologies are needed when you make a lush living as a bomb thrower.
Eddie Glaude is officially a Distinguished Professor of African American Studies. What he said about Trump voters is not quite ‘distinguished,’ but it earned him the headlines he desperately craves.
So, the week went to Dr. Eddie Glaude, Jr. But can he keep his title? Because it’s now baseball season, we’ll note that the progressives have a very deep bench of hate-filled sluggers eager to dislodge Glaude from the top spot. The dugout is stocked with heavy hitters like Ana Navarro, Adam Schiff, Joy Behar, James Carville, and Jasmine Crockett, a modern-day Murderer’s Row. Like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, they swing for the fences … and they all swing from the left.
