It was fascinating to see Senator Bernie Sanders go full communist Tuesday night in Chicago. Sanders well understands that time is not his comrade, and it could very well be his last national address.
In that he joins Joe Biden.
I submit that most Americans have no idea how far left the self-proclaimed "democratic socialist" really is. I believe he is the first communist ever to serve in the U.S. Senate. Certainly, the first one with a New York accent.
The Bernanator now calls wealthy white men "oligarchs", a loaded word that implies massive theft from the "people."
The Bern-meister wants to make the American oligarchy to pay for its sins. And pay. And pay.
Get the economic guillotine ready.
Under a Sanders regime, the federal government would "provide" the following: free health care (a human right), free college education for favored groups, a guaranteed income even if you don't work, free childcare, free food (again for selected groups), subsidies for housing, pensions, and green projects, no matter how inefficient they might be.
In short, the feds would control the economy through massive taxation and dole out almost unlimited entitlements.
Of course, as the Cuban and Russian people found out, this would lead to deprivation across the board.
I guess Bernie is fine with that as he gazes at Lake Champlain from his well-appointed Vermont dacha. And Kamala is a big Bernie fan, co-sponsoring his failed 2019 "Medicare for All" bill.
But you will never hear the Vice President touting Bernie's vision on the campaign trail. That might frighten the uninformed.
But if she's elected, watch out.
