The anti-Trump media is gloating over the Atlantic Magazine leak story. Apparently, members of the administration including Vice President Vance and Secretary of Defense Hegseth, allowed editor Jeffrey Goldberg access to a discussion about waxing terrorists in the Middle East.

 

This is a breach of security, to be sure, because Goldberg is a Trump hater and is now bragging about the incompetence of the administration. Piling on are other Trump vilifiers like former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta.

 

When asked, the President did not seem aware of the situation, and I believe that is true.  No one would purposely allow a guy like Jeffrey Goldberg access to anything.

 

The problem is inexperience, as I pointed out while analyzing presidential appointments earlier this year. Washington is no place for beginners.  It is treacherous.  Now, the Trump administration is embarrassed.

 

Not an enduring story but one that requires a "lessons learned" mentality. Understand that enemies of Donald Trump are lurking. Safeguards are vital. Know that before you speak.
