Rep. John Conyers Jr., D-Detroit, has announced his retirement.

Conyers addressed his constituents this morning on "The Mildred Gaddis Show" in Detroit (102.7 FM) amid multiple sexual misconduct allegations made against him the past few weeks, all of which he continues to deny.

"I am retiring today ... and I want everyone to know how much I appreciate the support incredible, undiminished support I’ve received across the years form my supporters, not only from my district, but across the country as well."
