Don't go out in public looking like a slob.  Keep that indoors.  It's easy to dress neat.  I can't speak for the ladies, but I do have general guidance: no polyester clothing unless you're auditioning for "Saturday Night Fever."  CLEAN sneakers. Jeans that fit, watch the seat or khakis.
