Once again, the world celebrates the birth of the most famous person who has ever lived. We chronicled the historical life and death of the Nazarene, Jesus, in the book "Killing Jesus"—the most amazing story.
Secularism has taken over many minds, but for those who will still consider important things like justice and destiny, the birth of Jesus is the starting point.
What captures my attention is not the indoctrination of my Catholic upbringing and schooling, but the brilliance of the theology. Although deeply flawed and sometimes evil men have tried to damage the Nazarene's message, it still dominates more than two thousand years after he walked the dusty trails of Palestine.
Putting others before yourself and respecting the life you have been granted is the essence of Christianity. And no human can accomplish that without petitioning divine guidance.
So, as Christmas 2024 unfolds, I fully realize that most people believe what they want to believe, and it is far easier to live a selfish life than to sacrifice for others.
But tonight, in the darkness, you might consider why we continue to celebrate the birth of a poor child in an obscure part of the world. There has to be a reason for the season.
Have a Happy Christmas.
