This column is aspirational. It hopes to clarify the presidential race in a way that will benefit the American people. That's my aspiration because I am a giver from a middle-class home.
My words might also be "holistic," but I'm not sure because I don't know exactly what the word means. I looked it up, still don't know. It's not like "poltroon" or "pecksniffian," which have clear definitions.
When politicians seeking power toss around undefined words, I get nervous. And Kamala Harris does that a lot.
I absolutely know what "a lot" means because Donald Trump uses that phrase all the time. A lot means plenty. I don't think it's holistic but, again, I'm not sure.
Also, it's not clear to me what paying my "fair share" is. There's no policy price menu. Bernie Sanders is a communist and believes my "fair share" is pretty much everything I have. He might let me keep my bathrobe.
Vice President Harris said last week that, unlike Bernie, she's a capitalist. So is Donald Trump. Ah, common ground at last.
I believe Ms. Harris does approve of the free marketplace because she has a multi-million-dollar house and six hundred pantsuits. But wait, that red menace Sanders also has millions of dollars in real estate, and so does that ex-commie Putin, who beat people silly as a KGB agent supporting the Soviet system.
But back to campaign verbiage. Donald Trump doesn't use big words. He's a little words guy. Here's an example: "We've never seen anything like this before."
He also likes "We'll see." You might say there's a lot of vision in Trump's presentation. See and be seen. A lot.
In the end there's way too much gibberish being spouted and no relief in sight. The TV news folks are terrible. It's all "what do you make of it" or "deep dive" or "we'll see" (Trumpism). If these peacocks spent as much time formulating decent questions as they do on their hair, people might learn something.
America is drowning in a sea of balderdash. Bilge is running wild. Bloviating, a necessity of political life.
We the people happily accept banality and tripe. It's not holistic, and it's not aspirational.
It's BS. Pardon the overused expression.
