Faith in America
April 14, 2025
This week, there is a lot of keeping the faith going on.  Holy Week, Passover, the U.S. economy, and leadership.  So, where are you on the faith front?

Americans are not nearly as involved with religion as they were 50 years ago.  The fastest-rising belief system among young adults is atheism, and weekly public worship has declined significantly.

We now live in a secular country where materialism dominates the culture.  The pursuit of "where's mine" has replaced "out of many, one."

That means personal sacrifice and loyalty to God and country is evaporating. Very tough to reach greater good territory when it's every citizen for his or her self.

Yet, the traditional signposts remain even if spring break has replaced Easter vacation.  Churches, Synagogues, and Mosques beckon, but their appeal in a secular society is diminished.  Not to mention being away from cell phones for an hour.

Finally, faith in the country is also on the decline.  As the media pumps out cynicism, many citizens simply disengage.

Something to ponder this spiritual week.

See you this evening for the No Spin News.
