Budget Cuts
November 22, 2024
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy wrote an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal on Thursday outlining their strategy to cut government spending.

A reminder that the duo does not have to be confirmed by Congress; they are categorized as presidential advisors.

I like the vision. The feds generally have contempt for us taxpayers, squandering billions of dollars.  If the guys do their jobs effectively, important reforms might take place.

The key is to present very specific wasteful situations to President Trump and the folks. Here's a vivid one: Public Broadcasting. PBS and NPR scarf up $535 million tax dollars a year.  For what? Far-left ideological presentations?  Simon and Garfunkel concerts?  Absolutely a colossal waste of money.

Also, we send far too much money overseas where it is often stolen as there is little oversight.  Once the dollars leave Washington, fog often rolls in.  Hello, Haiti.

The federal debt is the highest in history and could collapse the economy if nothing is done to bring it down.  Musk and Ramaswamy seem to understand that.

Go get 'em.

Have a good weekend. New column Sunday morning.
