The Passing of President Jimmy Carter
December 29, 2024

It's a rainy night in Georgia as President Jimmy Carter passed at age 100.  He stayed loyal to his state to the very end, something a bit unusual as most former presidents migrate to expensive places - the exact opposite of Plains, Carter's hometown.

If you read "Confronting the Presidents," you will see that Mr. Carter was an unsuccessful Commander-in-Chief. His lack of national experience after being Governor of Georgia overwhelmed him.

Not a venal person, Carter did much charitable work and remained a liberal thinker until the end.  He should be respected even though his presidency did not help most Americans.

President Carter tried his best, was an honest man of the people.  That will be his legacy.
