Diversity, Equity, Inclusion.  On the run in America right now as President Trump is having none of it.  If you do business with the federal government, you cannot promote DEI.

So what's the big whoop, as Mike Myers might ask?  Diversity doesn't seem to be a negative.  Different strokes often lead to creative breakthroughs.  A variety of life experiences can lift enterprises if folks are willing to work together.

Inclusion is generally good unless Governor Andrew Cuomo is ordering COVID patients into nursing homes. Also, including a Black Mamba on your pet roster is ill-advised.  Generally speaking, however, everyone should get a chance.

Therefore, the equity thing is the troublemaker.  Favoring certain people and groups over others.  This is destructive to those who benefit as well as to people who get screwed.

A few years ago, my son applied to Boston College, a Jesuit school.  He really wanted to attend but I knew the place was not a meritocracy.  It embraced skin color favoritism and woke.  White kids had a tougher road. He was not accepted even though he was fully qualified.

That turned out to be a blessing, literally. He enrolled in Salve Regina University, which doesn't play destructive games.  3.8 grade point average, varsity lacrosse, a very successful semester at Oxford University. The lad overcame the BC equity play that punched him in the mouth.

The federal government is correct in banishing the equity inequity.  You can't right historical wrongs by creating contemporary wrongs.  That's the truth. All Americans should be judged by their achievements and character.  Not by some fallacious philosophy that hurts far more people than it helps.
