It is Super Bowl week, and that means... actually, I don't know what it means. Nevertheless, thousands are flocking to New Orleans to socialize and fight heartburn if they can't digest Cajun.

A very troubled city, NOLA is also unique and full of interesting history.  But you have to watch yourself in the Quarter as it is a magnet for miscreants.

On the football front, both Philadelphia and Kansas City could win the game; they are evenly matched.  More than 100 million viewers are expected to watch, even more than see me on YouTube.

In a press conference, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was asked if the league will pull back on DEI now that the Trump administration is after it.  Goodell said no.

According to the team rosters, 53 percent of the players are black.  But all of them are there on merit.  Believe me, there is no racial aspect to professional football.  You either perform well or see you later.  It is a ruthless enterprise where competition is everything.

The NFL does have one DEI rule: each team must interview an African American for the head coaching job.  Doesn't have to hire the person, just has to consider.

Roger Goodell did a good job knocking back the insidious kneeling during the National Anthem stuff that erupted a few years ago and hurt the league.  The DEI trend doesn't really impact what happens on the field, and Goodell doesn't want to foster controversy, so it will remain.

Doesn't bother me.  If you're good enough, you'll get a chance to play.  No matter what color you are.

See you this evening for the No Spin News.
