On this Monday, I am thinking about the largest city in America, New York, absolutely falling apart.

 

So, why should you care if you don’t live there? Well, because what’s happening in Gotham just might be coming to your town. Soon.

 

The modern day Neros, fiddling while the Apple burns, are Mayor Bill de Blasio and the the Governor of New York State, Andrew Cuomo.

 

Two quick stats. New York City has had more shootings this year than all of last year and there are still five months to go.

 

And real estate prices, rents and sales, are at their lowest level since 2011.

 

Why would anyone buy in Gotham?  Violent crime is exploding, the subways are dangerous and inhabited by aggressive homeless people, who often use the train stations as toilets.  Grossed out?  Nobody will stop it.

 

In addition, drug addicts sit in parks openly injecting narcotics and there is little authority on the streets ... as the 35-thousand person police force has been demonized and demoralized by the mayor and city council.

 

Want more? Many crimes are ignored by DA Cy Vance, and in the unlikely case a criminal is apprehend, there is usually no bail ... thanks to Cuomo.

 

The Sinatra song says, start spreading the news, I’m leaving today.

 

Yup, millions of New Yorkers are doing just that. This is a disaster that no one can deny.
