It is amusing to see ideological zealots in the entertainment industry turn against Kanye West. People like John Legend, apparently a political science enthusiast, are blasting Mr. West for supporting President Trump. In 1855, the Know Nothing Party burst upon the political scene. Perhaps there’s now a renaissance of that situation.
Of course, entertainers such as Stephen Colbert who make money by slashing Mr. Trump are deeply invested in mocking any and all Trump supporters and that now includes old Kanye.
Unlike Shania Twain who quickly renounced her pro-Trump statement after being criticized, Mr. West is hanging tough and his wife, Kim Kardashian, is also defying the critics by asking if freedom of thought is now gone in America.
In entertainment and media, it certainly is, Kim. The Stalinists have taken over.
