President Obama Reveals Himself
"If you did not see 60 Minutes, it is worth watching the interview with Barack Obama. It is instructive because the president honestly feels he is doing an excellent job. It is amazing to watch this, but all Americans should. Speaking about ISIS, President Obama said this: 'Over time, the community of nations will all get rid of them, and we will be leading getting rid of them. But we are not going to be able to get rid of them unless there is an environment inside of Syria and in portions of Iraq in which local populations, local Sunni populations, are working in a concerted way with us to get rid of them.' So President Obama is telling Americans that Sunni Muslims must defeat a group that has pledged to deliver death and destruction to America. The president also said this: 'I guarantee you that there are factions inside of the Middle East, and I guess factions inside the Republican party who think that we should send endless numbers of troops into the Middle East, that the only measure of strength is us sending back several hundred thousand troops.' So, according to President Obama, there is no solution to radical Islamic terror other than sending several hundred thousand troops into dangerous areas. Because he is averse to using troops on the ground, he sits back and does little. The results in the Middle East and Europe are glaring. Talking Points well understands that no president wants to admit failure. So as President Obama enters his final year, the nation is struggling. But in his eyes he's done a fine job and believes he would win reelection again."

The Factor asked Charles Krauthammer for his reaction to the '60 Minutes' interview. "We are in a dangerous spot," Dr. K diagnosed, "when our president is delusional about what's happening in the world. He said 'the community of nations' will take on ISIS, but the community of nations doesn't exist. This is an adolescent fantasy! This is a president who is living on a different planet, but it's not harmless because people are getting killed. They are people who trusted us and who were dependent on us. The president is delusional and thinks he is actually winning in this area. I cannot imagine what they are thinking in the capitals of the world!"
Attacking His Faith
The far left and some in the media have been questioning the religious faith of Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson, who entered the No Spin Zone with his reaction. "I think it's the fact that I won't submit to their nonsense," he asserted. "I won't talk the way they think I should or embrace the ideals they think should be embraced. How dare someone like me actually think for themselves! The left wing media takes things I say out of context and tries to reinterpret them." Carson theorized that his race plays a role, saying, "The left wing has standard practice for black people and you're not supposed to wander from that or you're an 'Uncle Tom.'"
American Culture
The Census Bureau reports that one in five U.S. residents now speaks a language other than English at home. The Factor asked Juan Williams and Laura Ingraham how this affects the overall culture. "If you had 63-million people who only spoke Spanish or Arabic and were living in ghettoes," Williams said, "it would be bad. But the new wave of immigrants is learning English much more quickly than previous waves of immigrants." Countering that argument, Ingraham complained that in many places there is absolutely no emphasis on learning English. "One town in Massachusetts has 33 different languages and cultures as part of the learning process. That costs money, it means budgets are stretched tighter, and we'll see a bigger problem when we bring in refugees from totally different cultures. There are a lot of people making a lot of money by keeping people speaking their own languages."
Dishonesty in Politics
The Hillary Clinton campaign website includes a short clip in which Bill said this: "If you don't think the Benghazi thing is political, of course it's political." But the Clintonites cut out the part where Bill stressed the importance of the Benghazi committee's investigation. Brit Hume opined on the very selective editing. "The first thing that needs to be said," Hume began, "is that nearly every investigation conducted in Congress is political. And the way they edited your quote conveyed the impression that the only purpose and effect of the Benghazi investigation is to get Hillary Clinton. That isn't what you said and it isn't true." The Factor added that the campaign has refused to correct the blatant dishonesty:
New Book
Washington Post reporter and editor Bob Woodward, who has a new book out about the Nixon White House, weighed in on the troubled Hillary Clinton campaign. "She's in trouble because there are a lot of unanswered questions," he said. "We need to know what really happened, but she keeps saying it was 'permitted' and she seems agitated and very unhappy campaigning. The lesson for all of us is to be empirical, get the facts, and do not politicize this." The Factor concluded, "Hillary Clinton and Richard Nixon have something in common in that they're both so awkward with people, she doesn't connect with the folks."
Columbus Day Edition
Jesse Watters winged his way to Florida to find out what people there know about Chirstopher Columbus. Here's what a few of them told Jesse about ol' Chris: "He committed genocide" ... "He settled over to Puerto Rico and now we have a lot of Puerto Ricans here" ... "He thought he was in Africa" ... "He was credited incorrectly with discovering the United States, but he didn't. That's fiddlesticks and rubbish" ... "He liked sailing." On the bright side, at least one respondent knew that Columbus set sail in 1492. Although he did not land in Far Rockaway, as one young man posited.

Factor Words of the Day
Joan Rouse, Lincoln, CA: "After hearing all the excuses why Kate's Law is not being put up for a stand-alone vote, it is obvious why some conservatives want to get rid of Senator McConnell."

Francesco Tenti, Huntington, NY: "I sent a message about Kate's Law to McConnell using the link on BillOReilly.com. But it came back saying the Senator's website was out of service due to maintenance."

Brian Tyree, Phoenix, AZ: "Bill, I like the new segment Varney's Villains. But Apple is a villain. They choose to avoid U.S. taxes by hiring foreign workers."

John Davis, Shreveport, LA: "Geraldo is not as smart as he thinks he is. Have him look up the Warsaw Ghetto, where armed Jews held off the Nazis longer than it took the German army to conquer Poland."
Frightful PC Madness
A school district in Connecticut, trying to avoid offending someone or another, banned Halloween celebrations until the majority of parents revolted. All of us must do our part to combat the epidemic of politically correct madness.
