Donald Trump vs. Jorge Ramos
"Yesterday in Iowa, Univision anchorman Jorge Ramos disrupted a press conference held by Donald Trump. Mr. Ramos jumped the line and began asking Mr. Trump about his immigration policy when he had not been called upon. Trump had Ramos removed, correctly saying that he had no right to ask his questions without being recognized. Donald Trump is suing Univision over it dropping his Miss Universe Pageant, so he's obviously not a fan. However, I believe that had Jorge been more patient, Trump would have taken his questions because Donald does not avoid confrontation. It looked like Mr. Ramos grandstanded the situation, hoping to generate publicity. And that is the key here. Jorge Ramos has become an advocate for people who enter the USA illegally. He is a man who wants amnesty for illegal aliens and doesn't really want to stop illegal border crossings. A case can be made that Mr. Ramos is an open border guy, certainly a far-left position. So let me ask: What's the difference between Jorge Ramos on immigration and Black Lives Matter on race? Both are advocating policies from a political point of view. That's allowed, but when an anchorman does it, that becomes a problem. We have been trying to get Ramos on this program for months, especially after Kate Steinle was murdered in San Francisco, allegedly by an illegal alien felon who had been deported five times. Isn't it interesting that when events like Kate Steinle's murder occur, the pro-illegal alien crowd disappears? I have a simple question for Ramos.: Do you support Kate's Law? You can email me the answer, Jorge, since you won't appear on The Factor. Jorge Ramos is the most influential Hispanic anchorman in the USA and he is an amnesty guy, so how can he possibly report the immigration issue fairly? He can not. He went to Iowa to try to embarrass Donald Trump, not get answers for his audience. Talking Points believes Ramos has become a zealot, advocating far-left positions that most Americans reject. To be fair, Trump is advocating a hard-right position on immigration and specifics are hard to get from him. But he does show up to address the questions. Those who despise Trump are trying to use the Ramos incident as another example of his hostility to those with whom he disagrees. But if you look at this objectively, who is being up front with the American people? An anchorman who has become a political activist? Or a candidate who states his case and takes the heat? Again, you make the call."
Donald Trump vs. Jorge Ramos
The Factor pursued the Ramos-Trump dustup with conservative Andrea Tantaros and immigration lawyer Francisco Hernandez. "Jorge Ramos is not a down-the-middle anchor," Tantaros said. "He went there to disrupt and he proved Donald Trump's point that Ramos has been biased against him. The Hispanic media has been unfair to Trump and Jorge Ramos is exhibit A." But Hernandez theorized that Univision will have very little effect on the presidential race. "Jorge Ramos' viewers are not voting United States citizens. He's speaking to the Spanish-speaking population, he is not influencing U.S. votes. And Donald Trump has no intention of becoming president." The Factor urged Trump to sit down for a no-holds-barred interview with Jorge Ramos: "I like Jorge, he's feisty, but he's not an anchorman. I think Donald Trump should sit down for a live interview with Jorge Ramos at a neutral site.""
Gruesome Murder on Live TV
Virginia television reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward were shot dead while doing a live interview Wednesday morning. The killer was 41-year-old Vester Lee Flanagan, an embittered former reporter at the station who later killed himself. The Factor spoke about the heinous crime with Jeffrey Marks, boss of the station where the victims and the killer worked. "Flanagan worked for us for about a year," Marks said, "but his work was not up to our expectations and he had trouble working with people. We let him go early in 2013, after which he filed a report claiming discriminatory and harassing acts. He complained about racial comments, but it was totally without foundation. I have no idea what motivated him. That's for the courts and law enforcement to deal with."
Presidential Candidates and Charity
How generous have the presidential candidates been when giving to charitable causes? The Factor posed that question to FNC's Shannon Bream. "We have tax returns for Carly Fiorina and Jeb Bush going back several years," she said. " Fiorina contributed more than 13.4%, which is a pretty good chunk, while Bush was at 1.5%. But his folks say he raises a lot of money for other groups. On the other side, Joe Biden gave an average of $369 a year to charity before he was vice president and Bernie Sanders comes in at 4%. The Clintons gave almost 11%, but most of that went to the Clinton Foundation, which benefits the family." Also, Fox Business host Melissa Francis reported on the states with the highest and lowest tax rates. "It won't surprise you that New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut top the list. 12.6% of the money earned in New York is gobbled up by the greedy government. The lowest tax states are Wyoming, Alaska, and South Dakota. They all make a lot of money off of natural resources."
Biden for President?
Dennis Miller weighed in on the distinct possibility that Vice President Joe Biden will challenge Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination. "The poor man lost his son a scant 11 weeks ago," Miller began, "but I am not a fan of Joe Biden's. When I think of Biden, I think of term limits. He became a Congressman when he was 29 and he's now 72. He talks about how he wants to be in public service to help people like me, and I'm saying, 'Joe, I dismiss you from that path, go help yourself!' This whole thing about 'helping people' for 45 years gets tired for me, I don't like lifers." Miller also opined on Vladimir Putin's latest adventure on a submersible craft that took him to the bottom of the Black Sea. "This guy is beautiful," Miller quipped, "and at least he's interesting. I think they were taking a deep sea dive to Hillary's trustworthy ratings."
Ingraham Angle
Laura Ingraham opined on Tuesday's verbal duel between Donald Trump and Univision anchor Jorge Ramos. "Ramos is an activist posing as a journalist," she said, "and he's been able to escape criticism because he is a celebrated 'journalist.' Everyone tiptoes around Ramos, but he jumped the line in the Trump press conference. Even if people don't like Trump all that much, they also don't like boorish journalists who interrupt. When Trump brought him back in and engaged with him, Trump did himself a huge favor. Ramos looked like a student who had been sent to detention and started behaving a little better."

Factor Words of the Day
Larry Berry, Slidell, LA: "O'Reilly, it is obvious from your interview with him the other night that Mr. Trump does not have all the answers. Nevertheless, I am enjoying his no-PC comments."

Dr. Hermes Flores, Miami, FL: "Monica Crowley suggested Pope Francis address the Planned Parenthood situation during his visit to the USA. In the past he said that concern for the protection of nature is incompatible with the justification of abortion."

Donald Sterling, Medford, NY: "Bill, you stepped over the line comparing Nazi doctor Mengele with the selling of body parts from aborted fetuses."

Antonio Romanach, Doral, FL: "Bill, you're right. There's no difference between harvesting the body parts of babies and what Mengele did."
The Value of Patience
Being a lifelong fan of the New York Mets may be one definition of patience, but the fact that the Mets are now in first place proves once again that patience sometimes pays off.
