Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl Will Be Charged with Desertion
Guest:Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer
"Finally the Army has clarified the Bowe Bergdahl situation. He will be charged with two crimes after leaving his unit in Afghanistan. Both charges, if there is a conviction, mean a reduction in rank and forfeiture of pay, which could be more than $300,000. The Army's decision is an acute embarrassment for President Obama. You may remember that last May, the president met with the sergeant's parents at the White House, trumpeting the deal he made to secure Bergdahl's release from the Taliban who held him for nearly five years. The prisoner swap was five for one - five top Taliban commanders for Bowe Bergdahl. Those terrorists will be released from supervision in Qatar in a few weeks, free to return to the Afghan battlefield, free to kill Americans if they can. From the beginning, many Americans thought the deal was bad for the country but the president and his acolytes disagreed. National Security Advisor insisted that Bergdahl served 'with honor and distinction.' But according to the Army, Bowe Bergdahl did not serve with honor and distinction and instead may spend the rest of his life in prison. So if you are a supporter of the Obama administration, what do you say now? It is long past time for Americans to stop the ideological nonsense and see things for what they really are. Mr. Obama has made very serious mistakes in foreign policy and the entire War on Terror is now going against the good guys -- us and other anti-jihadist nations. The mistakes must stop. The president must begin to see the terror threat for what it is and aggressively try to defeat it. Leaving U.S. troops in Afghanistan for the time being is a smart move. Negotiating a tough nuke deal with Iran would send a very strong signal and actually unite this country, so I really hope Mr. Obama and Mr. Kerry will achieve that and present it to Congress. In the meantime, Bowe Bergdahl is a man in crisis and the Obama administration totally botched this whole deal."

The Factor was joined by Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer, who has been all over the Bergdahl story. "Behind the scenes there were some attempts at horse trading," Shaffer reported, "but the Army decided not to make a deal. The Army had no choice but to do the right thing and I am very proud of them for not buckling to the presidential pressure to make this quietly go away. Had it not been for you and The Factor pushing this, this could have quietly gone off the radar." The Factor predicted that Bowe Bergdahl will eventually be sentenced to military prison: "The members of his unit will come into court and say Bergdahl put them in danger. He will be convicted and could very well be sentenced to life in prison."
Media vs. Conservatives
Guest:Bernie Goldberg
Republican Senator Ted Cruz, who announced on Monday that he will run for president, has been generally savaged by the mainstream media. FNC's Bernie Goldberg analyzed the criticism of Cruz and other conservatives. "Liberals of course are not going to treat Ted Cruz fairly," Goldberg stated. "If he's pro-life, he's going to be portrayed as anti-woman; if he doesn't buy Al Gore's version of cataclysmic 'global warming,' then he's a Neanderthal. Today it's Ted Cruz who is in the crosshairs, but when he fades, as he will, there will be another Republican bogeyman they put in the crosshairs and who will be portrayed as a dope or a bigot or both." The Factor bemoaned the total lack of tolerance among many on the left: "It is foolish and unfair to believe that a person is not qualified for higher office if their conscience tells them that life begins at conception, or that the facts do not prove man-made global warming."
Snubbing NATO?
Guests:Eric Shawn and Shannon Bream
The head of NATO asked to meet with President Obama this week but was turned down. Fox News anchor Eric Shawn administered some truth serum to the story. "The Secretary General of NATO was asked whether it sends a political signal when the president can not spare some minutes to meet with him," Shawn reported. "The guy is a veteran diplomat and he danced around that question, saying there will be a meeting at some point in the future." FNC's Shannon Bream turned to reports of shady dealing in the Department of Homeland Security involving Senator Harry Reid, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, and Hillary Clinton's brother Tony Rodham "An inspector general's report," Bream reported, "says that the number two guy at Homeland Security expedited some visas that were requested by wealthy donors and top Democrats. He says no laws were broken but there were serious ethical issues."
Killing Jesus
Guest:Haaz Sleiman
This coming Sunday at 8 and 11 pm on the National Geographic Channel, the movie Killing Jesus will debut. Tonight we'll talk to the actor playing the role of Jesus about what the part meant to him and the challenges associated with playing such an important figure.
The D-Man Opines
Guest:Dennis Miller
Dennis Miller scrutinized the candidacy of Republican firebrand Ted Cruz. "He's got a great list of enemies," Miller observed, "and I like him because everybody who hates his guts seems like somebody I like to see pissed off. I dug it when Ted Cruz shut down the government; let's find the stupid SOB who re-started the government. But he's got a rough run, they won't be happy until he's in a Dracula cape hosting 'Creature Feature' on Telemundo." Miller also joked about the Nevada politician who wants to legalize medical marijuana for pets. "If the dogs' owners are going to be stoned, why shouldn't the dogs get stoned too? Cats have been stoned for decades, I know they're on weed. And make sure you use Mexican Gold hashish for the goldfish."
Violent Brawl Caught on Tape
Guest:Martha MacCallum
FNC anchor Martha MacCallum aired tape of a middle school girl who, egged on by her own mother, viciously fought with another girl. "This mother is charged with child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor," MacCallum reported. "She cheered her daughter on as these two 13-year-old girls ripped into each other. The mother been arrested ten other times and this time she could get 18 months to three years in prison." MacCallum also gave a hearty endorsement to the movie Killing Jesus, saying, "I think it's really important for kids to see this."

Factor Words of the Day
John Bullion, Baton Rouge, LA: "Glenn Beck says he wants to defund the Republican Party. Bad idea. All that would do is empower the Democrats."

Michelle Solomons, Cape Town, South Africa: "Bill, you said Glenn Beck is living in a fantasy world. Until you realize that ultra-conservative candidates are the only way to the White House, the Republicans will lose."

Tami Thompson, Gillette, WY: "Evil and dumb describe you, Bill. You stabbed Ted Cruz in the back."

Troy Robertson, Bradenton, FL: "My heart skipped a beat. For once someone stood up for teachers. Thank you, Bill."
