Race Relations in America
"A couple of weeks ago we told you that the rioting in Ferguson would actually bring more bias against blacks. Most Americans do not want anarchy, looting, and destruction, and they resent whoever does that, no matter what the cause. A new Fox News poll tells the story. 65% of whites agree with the decision of the grand jury not to seek criminal charges against the police officer in Missouri, but just 12% of blacks think the grand jury did the right thing. There's your racial divide. The bottom line is that beyond a reasonable doubt Michael Brown attacked Officer Darren Wilson. When that happens, you're not going to get an indictment against a law enforcement agent. Also, just 19% in the poll say relations between the races in the USA have gotten better since Barack Obama took office; 62% say worse. Here's what's driving that: Under President Obama, the grievance industry has taken off and the racial agitator Al Sharpton has been to the White House scores of times. Many black Americans who are not doing well are being fed a steady diet of propaganda. They are told that white people want to keep them down, that the police are hunting down young black men, incarcerating them for no reason. The race hustlers tell African-Americans their country is bad. The majority of blacks don't buy it, but a substantial minority do. And sometimes those folks act out, further alienating the people on the sidelines. So that's why the racial divide has grown under President Obama."

The Factor was joined by FNC's Geraldo Rivera, who recently advised NBA star LeBron James to swap his "I can't breathe" shirt for a shirt that says "Be a better father." "My point with LeBron," Rivera said, "is that the dysfunction and disintegration of the urban family is resulting in more young people being adrift. They run afoul of the law and have these dangerous encounters, but there is no organized group dealing with that. So, LeBron, with your celebrity and your fame, can't you have an effect on this bigger issue?" Rivera also defended Al Sharpton, admonishing, "When you call him a 'race hustler,' you diminish the fact that he is the most followed and adored leader in the civil rights movement today." But The Factor reiterated that Sharpton's coziness with President Obama is damaging race relations: "This guy is poison and they have legitimized him, which has alienated white people all over the country."
Confronting President Obama
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, who is retiring after four terms, just had a notable exchange with President Obama at the White House Christmas party. "I wanted to say something," Bachmann explained, "about what I think is the most consequential issue of the day. I said, 'Mr. President, with all due respect, I think it would be wise to bomb the Iranian nuclear program before they obtain a nuclear weapon. He smiled and was fairly condescending and patronizing, and said, 'Well, it's not quite that easy, Michele.' I wanted to make sure I left him with that message because Iran has stated that they will use a nuclear weapon to annihilate Israel and against the United States." The Factor reminded Bachmann, "If President Obama bombed Iran it would start World War III, the whole world would turn against us."
Police Rally
27 sheriffs from across the country gathered in Washington this week to protest President Obama's executive action on immigration. The Factor asked Fox Business host Lou Dobbs to elaborate. "Sheriffs are the only law enforcement officers who are elected," Dobbs said, "so it took a lot of guts for those people to show up. What they're saying is that the executive order is a fiat saying laws don't matter, which opens the door for drug traffickers to move heroin and cocaine and methamphetamine. If you believe a word this administration is saying about illegal immigration or border security, I would be stunned!" The Factor lamented, "The truth is that President Obama has no heart for the fight to regulate illegal immigration and he has made the situation worse."
What Makes You Mad?
FNC anchor Heather Nauert fielded some letters from ticked-off viewers. Floridian Rick Golden is peeved because the media looked the other way when black teens in Missouri savagely attacked a white man. "This man was killed by a group of teenagers who beat him to death with a hammer," she reported. "He was an immigrant from Bosnia. A week ago there was another similar attack, so folks in the Bosnian community are saying these are hate crimes." Another Florida viewer, Will Paprocki, is annoyed because The Factor often details the negative effects of marijuana on children. "Teenagers who smoke pot are 60% less likely to graduate from high school," Nauert said. "It also shrinks the brain and women who smoke pot while pregnant affect their baby's development. There are also studies showing that it lowers IQ."
Beyoncé Controversy
Friday regulars Greg Gutfeld and Bernard McGuirk opined on the fact that some Muslims are offended because Beyoncé wears an Islamic-type outfit in her new video. "What doesn't offend angry Muslims," Gutfeld pondered. "Christian children are being killed by ISIS, there is terrible stuff going on around the world, and they are angry at Beyoncé! But I'm happy she's wearing some clothes." McGuirk, meanwhile, seemed smitten by the sultry singer's appearance. "I thought I was watching an Iranian Victoria Secret show, in which case she would have won. She looked pretty good in that hijab." McGuirk also took a shot at Prince William and Kate, who just spent a few days in the USA. "As an Irishman and an American , I am totally offended by their presence. These anachronistic royals are antithetical to the American dream, let's get over these people! They're boring and this guy is two hair follicle losses away from a comb-over."
Irresponsible Spending?
The House has approved a $1.1 trillion spending bill that angered just about everyone, including radio talk show host Laura Ingraham. "This is why we call it a 'lame duck' session," she griped, "because lame things happen. If this was such a good deal for the American people, they would have done this before the elections. But they wait until the lame duck session, and John Boehner wants this whole spending thing to be done with and off the table. As a conservative, I expected a new dawn from Republicans and a new way of department-by-department budgeting, but now they have almost all of the government funded through September. It's insanity, and people who watch this show feel the country is going down the tubes except for really rich people."

Factor Words of the Day
Ted Zayac, Scranton, PA: "Bill, you are the exception. Today it is possible but less likely to achieve the American dream."

Karun Gahlawat, Brooklyn, NY: "Bill, you are correct. I came to America in 2000 with $500. Now I make six figures because I work hard."

Betsy Cross, Grand Rapids, MI: "Bill, I made my 14 year old son watch your Talking Points on the American dream. I would add two more pieces of advice: Read the Bible and listen to your mother."
A Travel Suggestion
If you have the opportunity to visit The Big Easy, New Orleans has a World War II Museum that is a great place to learn about the war.
