The Factor Rundown
Donald Trump Meets with Republican Leaders Today
Guests: Eric Bolling & Jessica Ehrlich

Talking Points began by what unites Donald Trump and Paul Ryan: the need to defeat Hillary Clinton in November.

"In politics, what you see and hear is not always reality.
"Spin dominates. That's why this program was created. The 'No Spin Zone' cuts through all that.

"Today, Donald Trump met with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan - the two men trying to find common ground on which to defeat Hillary Clinton for the presidency in November.

"It is really impossible to say what both men are truly thinking, but they do have a common interest - and that is winning.

"Simply put, if President Obama's economic policies are continued for four more years under President Hillary Clinton, the country may fracture."

Eric Bolling joined The Factor to say that he thought Paul Ryan should move past his differences with Trump during the primary and support his candidacy.

"[Paul] Ryan and that whole establishment class have realized: that was then, this is now," Bolling said.

Democratic strategist Jessica Ehrlich noted that Ryan was taking a significant political risk by not endorsing his party's presumptive nominee.

"[Trump]'s got a real populist message, and that was a huge discrepancy between" him and Ryan.
Friction Between Donald Trump & the GOP
Guest: Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX)

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX)

Texas GOP Congressman Louie Gohmert has said he won't endorse Trump until the New York real estate mogul apologizes to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for personal attacks during the primary.

Gohmert told The Factor that he thought Cruz was still owed an apology and that he also needs to be assured Trump "also is not going to be degrading women."

He also said he still had concerns with Trump's demeanor. "I've loved the way he's defended our culture...but there are limits to what is appropriate and what isn't," he said.
Are Cops In Fear of Retaliation?
Guest: Patrick Lynch

Patrick Lynch, president of New York City's largest police union, joined The Factor to say police were afraid police were afraid to go the extra mile because they don't have the full support of political leaders like NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio (D)

"Morale [among police] is in the toilet because we're getting second guessed at every call," Lynch said.

He also said that online videos of police arrests were making things harder for cops.

"A snippet of a video is being used as if you're guilty, not knowing what happened prior to that or after that," Lynch said.
Illegal Immigration & Tax Dollars
Guests: Arthel Neville & Eric Shawn

Eric Shawn joined The Factor to discuss a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies that shows immigrant-headed households (both legal and illegal immigrants) consume 41% more per capita in welfare programs than people who were born in the United States.

Shawn reported that much of the discrepancy is due to education as Over 24% of immigrant households are headed by a high school dropout, compared to just 8% of native households.

Arthel Neville then joined The Factor to report on a study out of Washington State University that found police officers are three times less likely to shoot an armed black suspect than a white suspect. Neville pointed out that the study was based on simulations and therefore it's unclear how the study pertains to officers in the field.
Is the Media Going Overboard on Trump?
Guest: Bernie Goldberg

There are reports that the Washington Post is going to assign 20 reporters to investigate Donald Trump. Bernie Goldberg had no problem with the Post heavily vetting Trump so long as they did the same for Hillary Clinton and other liberal causes.

Goldberg also found recent reports that Facebook was removing conservative stories from its "trending" news feed given the enormous power that site has over what stories people see.
Millennials & the Presidential Race
Guest: Jesse Watters

A survey taken by Harvard University's Institute of Politics says that among 18-to-29 year olds Hillary Clinton is favored by 61% over Donald Trump's 25%.

So Watters' went out to Washington Square Park and found that young people don't like Trump ... or know much of anything at all.
A Despicable Action
"32-year-old George Zimmerman shot and killed 17- year-old Trayvon Martin in 2012. Zimmerman was acquitted of a crime in Florida.

"No matter how you feel about that case, it is terrible that a teenager is dead. No decent person could feel good about that.

"Now Zimmerman says he wants to sell the gun that killed Mr. Martin.

"Mr. Zimmerman's action is despicable. You do not profit from a tragedy."
