Here are some additional books to add to your summer reading list. In case you missed it, be sure to check out the rest of the books we've recommended in 2009.- Brimstone by Robert Parker
The Spenser for Hire author writes his third Western novel. Quick read, exciting, decent payoff at the end. - Vicksburg, 1863 by Winston Groom
Excellent look at a crucial battle of the Civil War. Good research. - Between Two Bridges by Victor Colaio
Self-published and available on Amazon. This non-fiction book chronicles how poor European immigrants survived in New York City in the second half of the 20th Century. Nice evocative feel, and for seniors, the memories will resonate. - Being Catholic Now by Kerry Kennedy
A daughter of Robert Kennedy interviews famous Catholics (including me) and puts forth how the religion is viewed. With 65 million American Catholics, the book appeals to all. - Road Dogs by Elmore Leonard
Leonard is one of my favorite authors. This crime caper flies by and is very entertaining. You'll also learn something about betrayal and friendship.
